Create article
This guide will help you create an article in BackOffice, but first we'll give an overview of the various article settings.
Article settings
When creating an article, you can adjust different settings to customize how your product is presented and used. Let's go through some basic terminology so you know what you can do.
'Goods' or 'Service'
When creating a new article, it will by default be defined as 'goods' (physical products), but if what you're selling is actually a service (intangible offerings such as tailoring or parking services) all you need to do is enable the 'Service' setting.
Article, Add-on or Deposit article
Similar to above, new articles are by default set as standard products. However, you can also easily create Add-ons or Deposit articles.
- Add-ons are not something that you sell on their own, but is added on to an article, for example a dip sauce or extra cheese on a burger.
- Deposit articles are reusable items or containers that are sold together with a product and add an amount to the price of the product. Deposit articles can be redeemed, returning the price of the deposit article to the customer.
